We’re thrilled to share Opes was named a ThinkAdvisor 2024 Luminaries Awards finalist in the innovation category for its proprietary Opes Advantage software. This web-based retirement planning application forecasts potential outcomes of various financial decisions related to future obligations, objectives, and cash flow.
Opes recognized a growing need for financial planning that accounts for real estate complexities, especially in high-cost areas, where real estate is closely tied to net worth. As such, the software considers not only a client’s capital and liquid and illiquid assets but also lifestyle assets, such as real estate, at key moments in time. This helps clients understand their progress toward their retirement plan, how long their assets will last, and if they need to downsize or sell assets to generate liquidity. Since real estate is many people’s most significant asset, the ability to model multiple property and financing scenarios “on the fly” is highly advantageous for planning situations, such as selling a property or purchasing another.
